Simple Dishwasher Tablets

With only 3 ingredients you can make these DIY dishwasher tablets at home! Convenient and effective at removing grease and grime, these natural dishwasher pods are easy to make and allows you to save more of your hard earned money!
Dishwasher Tablet Ingredients:
Baking Soda – is a common leavening agent in baked good recipes, however it also makes for a wonderful, natural cleaning agent. Homemade dishwasher detergent with baking soda helps to soften water, remove odors and stains, and pairs well with other natural cleaning supplies, like citric acid and white vinegar.
Citric Acid – is a must have natural cleaning ingredient! Homemade dishwasher pods with citric acid works beautifully to break apart grease and grime, and it will leave your plates and cups looking brand new. I like to purchase the citric acid powder from Milliard in a bulk one pound bag.
Dr Bronners Liquid Soap – is liquid soap that acts as a binder for the baking soda and citric acid. It also adds extra cleaning properties and scent to your dishwasher tablets.
WHY DIY DISHWASHER TABLETS ARE BENEFICIAL TO USE:
- Environmentally Friendly: Store-bought dishwasher tablets often contain phosphates, chlorine, and other chemicals that can harm aquatic ecosystems. Homemade tablets, on the other hand, are free from these harmful substances and are biodegradable. By using DIY tablets, you’re contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.
- Healthier for You: Commercial dishwasher tablets may leave chemical residues on your dishes, which can potentially be ingested. With DIY tablets, you have peace of mind, knowing that you’re using natural ingredients that are safe for your health and your family’s well-being.
- Cost-Effective: Making your own dishwasher tablets can save you money in the long run. The ingredients are readily available and cost-effective, and you can make a batch that will last for several washes.
- Customizable: One of the significant advantages of DIY tablets is that you can customize them to your liking. You can experiment with different Dr Bronner’s Liquid Soap scents to get a scent that suits your preference.
